In November 2011, I was awarded a two week fellowship at Ragdale in Illinois, a very inspirational place where I was able to start thinking about projects I wanted to work on. Upon returning to my daily life at home I was able to continue working and thinking creatively. It was a very dark Chicago winter and I became obsessed with filling my kitchen with flowers. During January and February I made over a thousand photographs of Cali Lilies. This is one of my favorites.
