We met some time ago in Houston, so long ago I can’t even remember. By chance of the river of life, we both met again many years later as young adults in Los Angeles, California. At the time, rusk was working on a rock album and I was pursuing photography—two artists reconnecting without skipping a beat, catching up like nothing had happened since the last time we briefly met so long ago in Houston. He’s a rock star now, we’re both still artists seeking ourselves in the expansive consciousness of our universe, in the society we occupy. We decided to make some photographs and this was one of the results—a portrait of rusk in an early-evening scene of downtown Los Angeles.
