Image was taken in 2014.  My office is under a large magnolia tree that spawn these giant blooms in the spring time.  I’m intrigued by the extravagant appearance and intoxicating scent of these flowers.  Their beauty, however, lasts only a day — It goes from a bright clean white to a wilted dark brown within such a short span of time. Its beauty has to be appreciated at the moment and not to be put off until later.
