DETAILS:

This photograph is from the series, The Mexican Diary. It is a visual poem of daily life in the desert of Central Mexico. Soon after the image was created, it initiated the exploration of a new body of work with the same title, Charros. Mexican culture is external with its tradition, sorrow, resistance and pride. It is carried and weighted on their very persons. They are a passionate people in that their failures only make what they have mastered something to exonerate, an event to witness. As one of Mexico’s cherished sports, Charreada is a clear expression of their heritage. The horsemanship represents courage, struggle, beauty, poetry and power. The festival and pageantry displayed reveals Mexico’s history. The Mexican Diary was added as 10(x) Edition book.
